ABSTRACT: A new gondolellid conodont species, Jinogondolella palmata, is described from the lower part of the Bell Canyon Formation in the Apache Mountains of West Texas. This new species and J. aserrata represent two different lineages that evolved from J. nankingensis in the lower and middle Wordian of the Middle Permian. This species has been found in several sections in the Guadalupe Mountains and in Oman.
