ABSTRACT: The description of two subspecies, Miscellanea juliettae pfenderae Leppig and M. juliettae villattea Leppig, is emended and a new holotype is designated. Both subspecies were previously described as subordinate units of Miscellanea juliettae, a species that has never been formally described. Here we provide the formal description of the species Miscellanea juliettae n. sp., and show that both subspecies are intergrading units of the same species. This results in retaining a single taxonomic unit, Miscellanea juliettae n. sp., leading us to abandon previous designations of subspecies rank.
